When looking for an endodontist, don’t compromise on just any root canal provider. Here at Advanced Endodontics of New York, we are one of only two practices in NYC that are certified to use the groundbreaking GentleWave® Procedure, a state-of-the-art alternative to traditional root canal treatments.
Using the GentleWave Procedure, Dr. Bose is able to preserve more tooth structure using this minimally invasive treatment, saving the tooth in such a way to promote its future health as well. GentleWave is able to clean out infected areas of the tooth that regular procedures could not, often preventing the need for root canal retreatment in the future.
In our experience, GentleWave provides the most predictable method for thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting complex internal anatomies.
Through microendodontic root canal therapy, apicoectomies, tissue regeneration and conscious sedation, we comfortably restore the health of our patients’ dental pulp and tooth roots. Our ultimate goals are to alleviate your pain and save your smile.
Dr. Bose received her undergraduate education and first dental degree in her native India, followed by a dental degree at the UCSF School of Dentistry. At UCSF, she was a recipient of the Nguyen T. Nguyen Scholarship for extraordinary achievement and excellence in endodontics. She completed the Master of Medical Sciences program in Endodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she received extensive training in endodontics and microsurgery.
During a root canal, we remove inflamed or infected pulp from inside your tooth, carefully clean and disinfect it using innovative GentleWave® technology, then fill and seal it with a specialized filling material.
Also known as root end surgery, an apicoectomy removes a tooth’s root tip (apex) and surrounding infected area or inflamed tissue. This may be required if after a root canal, residual inflammation or infection near the root tip impacts the jawbone.
Retreatment may be required due to various reasons, such as cracks in crowns or tooth decay. The prior crown and filling material is removed, the root canal is cleaned and refilled, and the tooth is re-crowned.
Dr Pillai is excellent. Not only did she do a great job dealing my tooth issue, she is also really nice and gentle. I was def nervous in the beginning of the process but she kept comforting me with her calm voice & great music selection. Best dental experience ever! would highly recommend.
Dr. Mahua Bose has been excellent every time I have been treated by her. She is extremely gentle, very calming, and is always attentive to details. She always takes the time to answer any questions I may have about procedures and treatment planning so that I am completely comfortable with everything. I have not felt this comfortable with a dental experience ever, I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with her.
I was referred to this practice by Dr. Brian Tanz. It was the most calming experience during a stressful root canal. Dr Bose managed my expectations, performed a challenging treatment with success. She has a “zen” feeling in her office, allows you to feel relaxed while in the dental chair.
